About the LibraryCentral LibraryThe Central Library of Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya was started along with the establishment of the college in 1966 in order to cater the Academic and Research activities on behalf of college family, comprising of faculty members, research scholars, students and non-teaching colleagues. Since then the college library has been progressed to live up to the expectation of its immediate stakeholders. The college is proud of its Library system which comprises of the Central Library and 17 departmental libraries. The central library can provide most of the facilities needed to satisfy the thirst of knowledge enhancement to all the associated people and stakeholders. The college is grateful to those scholars and educationists of Haripal locality and Hooghly district who have contributed enormously to enrich the library variously. We are also thankful to the State Government, UGC and the RUSA for our college Library for their book grant which have sanctioned time to time for the growth of the library. Library FeaturesThe College Library System comprises of the Central Library of about 3100 sq.ft. and 17 departmental seminar libraries. The central library is housed in the ground floor of the three –storied building in the campus. The main features of the library are summarized here:
